Point Scandinavia provides thermal transfer ribbons for printers. We offer a range of wax, wax/resin and resin ribbons to suit almost every application. Thermal transfer ribbons are used for printing in the graphic labels industry and the packaging industry for printing of barcodes, packaging film and labeling applications. We provide several formulations in black and colours to match your printer and substrate. The thermal transfer ribbon are either coated side in or coated side out. Our ribbons allow printing at lower temperatures and faster speed which result in reduced print head costs and lower overall energy usage. All ribbons are non toxic and heavy metal free formulations. There are three types of ink coatings for TTR ribbons.
WAX 100 Thermal Ribbon
Economy Printing
General purpose labels. Wax is the most cost effective option for thermal transfer ribbon.
Used for paper labels, matt or semi-gloss. Less image durability. No resistance to abrasion, oils, chemicals or anything that could dissolve the wax image. The labels have to remain dry to last long. Allow fast printing speeds and uses less energy at the printing head. Indoor use. Less heat is required.

WAX-RESIN 110 Thermal Ribbon
General Purpose Printing
Used for very fine, smooth papers, coated papers, semi or gloss or synthetic stocks.
Better resistance than wax. Printed image is fine but more durable than image printed using wax ribbon. Not exposed to moisture. Greater resistance to friction and standing compared to wax. Some scratch resistance. More heat than wax is required.

RESIN 120 Thermal Ribbon
Maximum Durability on Synthetic Material
Used for printing plastic film labels. Including polyester, vinyl and polypropylene. Depending on the label material and resin ribbon can be exposure to chemicals, oils, harsh weather, water etc. Best for extreme environment. Outdoor use possible. Provide scratch resistance on labels require extra durability. More heat than wax or wax/resin is required.

Different colours available in different quality levels.
Information
Ribbon Width: To your specified requirements.
Ribbon Length: The outer diameter of the roll will change if the length is increased. Check your printer for maximum length. Some printers have higher outer diameter limit than others.
Core: Paper core sometimes on plastic cores. Common size 1″, 25mm core sometimes 3″ 76mm core.
Printing Face: Thermal transfer ribbons are delivered with internal winding IN pigment on the inside of the carrier foil or winding OUT pigment on the outside of the carrier foil.
Used on Substrates: Uncoated and coated paper, synthetic paper, PE film, PP film, PVC film and other substrates.
